It's still a good compressor but I have so many compressors and I prefer 0-latency plugins (it has 64 samples of delay), so this one does not get used very often. In truth, the legacy of LA-2A is so wide that dozens of plug-ins are really very close in sound, features and design. It seems that most producers use the CLA-2A for leveling purposes, particularly for bass sounds. Producers love the multi-stage release and the CLA-2A’s quick response, both of which add character to the mix.
